Romans 15 verse 4 this is why we get together.
This is the purpose of every time the church gathers.
I think sometimes we need to repeat our purpose, just like corporations have the people all say their purpose statement so they remember what they’re doing and why they’re doing it.
This is why the church gathers chapter 15 of the Book of Romans and verse 4, "For whatever things were written before were written for our learning that through the patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."
The Bible is written about real people who lived in real places and had the very same real struggles all of us go through sitting here tonight.
There are struggles going on with job situations, family situations, and losing family members–there are two people just like that here.
One lost their dad this week another lost their sister. They’re here tonight.
That is normal life going on. There’s only one place that everyone in–every situation in life, every struggle, every problem, every challenge, every fear, every anxiety, can all equally be powerfully met–and it’s the scriptures.
Look at the next verse, verse five. Here is what happens when the Word of God is proclaimed…
