Perry had been introduced to Dr. Salvador Plasencia by Iwamasa in September, who then became a source of ketamine for the actor. Plasencia, with the help of Dr. Mark Chavez, allegedly taught Iwamasa how to administer the drug and provided a continuous supply to the struggling actor.
Despite multiple adverse reactions to the ketamine, including a severe spike in blood pressure that left Perry temporarily paralyzed, the drug use continued. On October 12, just weeks before his death, Perry experienced one such reaction, prompting Plasencia to advise against further large doses. However, Perry’s addiction had already spiraled out of control, leading Iwamasa to seek additional ketamine sources.
Among those arrested was Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” who allegedly supplied high-end ketamine to celebrities. Sangha, along with Plasencia, faces multiple charges related to the distribution of ketamine, while Iwamasa and another middleman, Erik Fleming, have already entered guilty pleas in connection with the case.
