Iran seized a US-sanctioned tanker carrying Iranian oil in the Gulf of Oman, Iran’s army said Friday — as US and Iranian forces clashed in the Strait of Hormuz. The Barbados-flagged tanker, Ocean Koi, was stopped and forced back to the southern coast of Iran over an alleged attempt to disrupt the Islamic Republic’s oil exports, state media reported, quoting an army statement. Three people were killed and at least ten are still missing after a volcano erupted in Indonesia. The North Halmahera police chief said that ‘There are three dead, two foreigners and one resident of Ternate" and that nine tourists from Singapore are among the missing.
