Under the Repair Bonus scheme, consumers can get a discount worth up to €25 per item. Since its launch in 2023, more than 1 million repairs have been subsidised. A phreatomagmatic eruption, where rising magma interacts violently with water, at the main crater of the Philippines’ Taal Volcano sent ash and steam plumes up to 1,200 metres into the air on June 30, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. The eruption, that lasted about four and a half minutes, came hours after a similar event the same day. Alert Level 1 remains in effect as authorities continue to monitor the volcano.

As Israel’s military continues to consolidate control of territory in southern Lebanon, people living under Israeli occupation say they’re struggling to survive.
