A supposedly racist meme depicting the Obamas as apes sent the liberal media into a five-alarm meltdown, with every network leading with it as their top story. But here’s what actually happened: Trump posted a video about 2020 election irregularities on Truth Social, and at the very end, for maybe two seconds, a meme appeared because whoever screen-recorded the video didn’t edit out the autoplay from what looks like an Instagram reel. The meme itself is a Lion King parody showing various Democrats as different animals – Gavin Newsom, AOC, Pencilneck Schiff as a giraffe, JD Pritzker as an elephant, Biden as a monkey, Kamala as a turtle. But Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries went completely unhinged, dropping F-bombs in their denunciations. Even worse were the cowardly conservatives rushing to apologize – Tim Scott, Batya Ungar-Sargon, various RINOs on CNN, and token black Republicans with their black fragility on full display. Fox News personalities like Laura Ingraham couldn’t even spend 30 seconds researching the context before parroting fake news. The same people who had no problem with white people and Trump being depicted as monkeys for decades suddenly clutch their pearls over a hilarious meme. The real issue isn’t the media’s halftruth spin – it’s that conservative Inc. won’t admit what everyone knows: these kinds of jokes are hilarious, and we’re going to make them great again.
