The Washington Monument doubled as a giant birthday candle on New Year’s Eve to kick off the yearlong celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Freedom 250, a nonprofit group launched by President Trump earlier this month to lead the semiquincentennial festivities, illuminated the towering obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, DC, with patriotic projections telling the story of America.
