Russell Brand has landed himself once again in hot water, after police in the UK released a statement announcing he’s facing new rape and sexual assault charges.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the 50-year-old disgraced comedian has been charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault in relation to two women. According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the two separate incidents related to the charges occurred in 2009.
The two new additional charges come eight months after Brand was charged with one count of rape, one count of oral rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault for alleged offenses tied to four separate women that took place between 1999 and 2005. Brand was granted bail after a 12-minute hearing in May. He has pleaded not guilty to the original charges.
