Federal officials are planning an immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota that will focus on Somali nationals who are in the US without legal status. The effort, expected to begin soon, is aimed at individuals in the Minneapolis–St. Paul region who have outstanding final removal orders.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey defended the largest Somali community in the nation, saying, "we love you and we stand with you. That commitment is rock solid."
