During yesterday’s WH press briefing, Karoline Leavitt was asked to comment on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s plan to sue the federal government. The lawsuit would be in response to the Trump Administration demanding $1 billion from UCLA. The demand is tied to allegations that UCLA failed to address antisemitism on campus. Leavitt challenged Newsom’s claims of extortion, saying the administration is defending First Amendment and religious rights at colleges, and promising to share examples with his office.
