A jury in New York has found music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs guilty of prostitution-related offenses — but acquitted him of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
The former billionaire, known for elevating hip hop in American culture, was convicted of "transportation to engage in prostitution". Prosecutors said he used his business empire to force two of his romantic partners to take part in days-long, drug-fueled sexual performances with male sex workers in hotel rooms. His attorneys insisted the activity was consensual. The seven-week trial in a Manhattan federal court drew massive media attention. Each of the two counts carries up to 10 years in prison, but the final sentence will be set by a judge.
