A power outage that shut down Heathrow Airport in the UK earlier this year was the result of “missed opportunities for prevention,” according to a new report.
The failure was most likely caused by moisture entering equipment that should have been replaced. The incident led to the cancellation of approximately 1,300 flights and disrupted travel for more than 270,000 passengers. Shadia Edwards-Dashti has the story.
