The Iranian parliament is moving to close the Strait of Hormuz following the U.S. attack on three of the country’s nuclear sites, according to Iranian state-owned media organization Press TV. About 20% of the world’s oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, and any attempt to block it could have major global economic consequences. NBC News has not independently verified the closure of the waterway.
