Jesus says that Philadelphia is faithful because they have, in Revelation 3:8, “a little strength,” or “small faith.” This isn’t a rebuke. It’s not Jesus saying, “O ye of little faith.” It’s not that their faith is small, just that they have a small basket to put it in, a small church, just a few people. And do you know what a small amount of faith can do?
Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Jesus tells us that the church at Philadelphia operated completely according to His plan, according to His Word, following His will, responding to Him faithfully, and their lives pleased Him in all that they did.
