The so-called Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, headed by the world’s richest man Elon Musk, has sent shockwaves across Washington DC and the United States since Donald Trump’s return to office. The agency was created by Trump to identify and root out he claims is wasteful government, but critics accuse it and Musk of overstepping their authority and waging war against the federal bureaucracy.
