Israel has carried out new strikes against Lebanon, despite a US-led call for a temporary ceasefire. A joint statement urging a 21-day truce was issued by the US, France, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and other countries, following talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Top Israeli ministers have rejected calls for a cease-fire in Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hasn’t formally responded to the US-France-led proposal but has ordered the army to continue fighting the Hezbollah militant group with "full force."
