Paris is burning again. Thousands hit the streets for a second straight weekend. The Louvre and other major museums shut their doors. Seventy thousand police officers deployed nationwide. Protesters are openly defending the violence while claiming the anger is about wages and police tactics.
President Trump and the White House put a clear frame on it. In a video posted to X, the message is blunt: “Take a look at France. Then ask yourself what kind of future you want for America.” The clip intercuts Trump’s words with footage of the chaos. He calls France a once-great nation “being conquered, looted, and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists, and communists who hate Christianity, and they hate, frankly, the Western civilization itself.” They are “incompatible with Western values.” They “despise everything about France and they’re destroying that country.” And he draws the direct line: this is what the radical left wants for America.

Some 70,000 law enforcement officers were deployed countrywide on Saturday, while the Louvre and several other major Paris museums closed in an effort to prevent renewed violence during planned protests.
Trump has said it repeatedly. “This isn’t about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great Country.” “What’s happening in France has to do with immigration, not schools, not anything.” “It’s an immigration problem. We have people that poured into France, and they were also unchecked, unvetted, like with Biden when he was doing.” He told Macron long ago to close the borders. He warned that if Europe does not remove the people who hate the country, Europe is finished. Paris, he said, is on track to become a Muslim city.

The student story does not hold. French and EU students pay roughly €178 a year for a bachelor’s degree and €255 for a master’s at public universities. That is about $200 to $300. Non-EU rates are higher now, but the core system for citizens and Europeans remains near-free by American standards. Healthcare coverage for students is free to join through the national system. Students get the welfare state benefits the protesters claim to demand. The initial high-school blockades were about teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms, and rundown buildings. Those grievances quickly became cover for broader street violence, looting, and attacks on property and police. Black-bloc crews and others joined in. Most of the more than 2,000 people put in custody in the worst weekend were minors, but the pattern of destruction matches the earlier banlieue riots, not a pure education protest.
Trump is describing the larger picture. Open borders and mass migration have brought in large numbers of people from cultures that do not assimilate and that reject the host society. Woke leaders in France and across the EU keep the inflows going. Each year the demographic shift accelerates. Native European populations shrink as a share of their own countries. Public services strain. Crime rises in the banlieues. Parallel societies grow. The same leaders who lecture about tolerance refuse to enforce borders or demand assimilation. The result is conquest by invitation. The violence is one symptom. The deeper process is the steady replacement of the historic French and European population and culture.

It is a warning tied to the midterms: choose the future you want for America.
