Police records show Burmaster fatally SH0T another dog back in 2012.
NOPD’s own investigators said Apollo posed NO threat.
They noted he never considered his Taser or just not sh00ting the dog.
Multiple internal reviews called the shooting “UNJUSTIFIED.”
Then the family sued… and in July 2023, department leadership CLEARED HIM of wrongdoing.
In June 2025, a federal jury found he acted in an “objectively unreasonable manner” and that same jury handed him QUALIFIED IMMUNITY.
The family appealed.
On July 14th of 2026, the Fifth Circuit AFFIRMED it.
The bodycam footage CLEARLY shows this was unjustified…
