U.S. forces destroyed an Iranian-affiliated dhow in the Gulf of Oman on October 6, alleging the vessel was conducting surveillance and targeting U.S. Navy ships. According to U.S. authorities, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has continued targeting civilian vessels and American warships in regional waters over the past seven months. The dhow’s crew was safely removed before the vessel was destroyed, with repatriation efforts ongoing.
