This woman loved Dove silky smooth milk chocolates and Nutter Butters. When you turn the package over, she notices they “Contain bioengineered food ingredients” “Both are ruined. I tried this and it tasted funny — they got hit too with bioengineered food crap and you could taste it. It tastes waxy. I’m a big chocolate snob and I could tell — no more of these” You’re not imaging it our chocolate does taste different, Because global cocoa prices have increased so much many companies have been replacing some cocoa butter with cheaper vegetable fats like palm kernel oil, shea oil and soybean oil. This gives it that waxy texture and taste Dove still uses cocoa butter but most American chocolate uses beet sugar, and sugar beets are a listed bioengineered crop and will require the label. Soy lecithin is also listed as an ingredient Our food is a science experiment
More Americans are noticing the taste of their favorite snacks keep changing
