The claim
Nick Bostrom’s 2003 paper argues that if advanced civilizations run many ancestor simulations, you are probably in one of them. Joe’s version adds NPCs, déjà vu, and the sense that physics is a game engine. Rizwan Virk brought the video-game read. Roman Yampolskiy brought the control-and-AI read.
Floor of fact. The Bostrom paper is real philosophy, not a meme. It does not prove we are simulated. It sets a fork: either almost no civilization reaches sim-capacity, or they choose not to run us, or we are almost certainly inside one. Lab physics has not found the pixel. That is the live fight.
