President Trump took Chinese President Xi out the South Lawn to show off his brand-new helipad Thursday.
The president had pushed for construction workers to have the new granite landing pad finished by Xi’s arrival. Trump formally cut the ribbon for it on Monday.
Marine One sat on the helipad waiting for the the two leaders, who boarded the helicopter as part of their tour.
President Trump and President Xi didn’t answer many shouted questions after their quick tour of the new helipad. But President Trump did pay his Chinese counterpart a compliment, saying of Xi: "He’s an expert on stone — besides other things. And he loves good granite."
