The Opened Heart and the Sealed Past: Beside the Gangites river, Paul met Lydia, a wealthy seller of expensive purple cloth made from thousands of tiny Murex shellfish. When she believed, the Lord opened her heart, and she was baptized. Paul used Colossians to explain that believer’s baptism is a beautiful public declaration that Christ did surgery on your heart, buried your past forever, gave you a brand-new start, wiped out your guilt, and promised you have nothing left to fear. Exposing the Python’s Trap: As they walked, a slave girl possessed by a "Python" spirit of divination (witchcraft from Delphi) stalked them to disrupt their ministry. Paul delivered her in the name of Jesus. Satan’s chief tactic is subtle infiltration, trying to join and corrupt the church from within.
