We got it at cost, with zero burden on the American taxpayer. That is INCREDIBLE. Rebuilding the infrastructure and scaling up production takes time. Seedlings don’t turn into a forest overnight. But in a world where global choke points like the Strait of Hormuz can be shut down in an instant, relying on hostile regimes on the other side of the planet is something we shouldn’t have to put up with. This deal makes sure we can supply ourselves from our side of the planet.
