On Aug 10, a former lawmaker called a Thai TV journalist live on air and admitted to shooting a senior provincial official and his driver at a government office in Nonthaburi. The gunman claimed he carried out the attack over an 11 million baht ($340,000) dispute stemming from a previous local election. Both victims were wounded and hospitalized.
