A powerful storm in southeastern Brazil ripped a metal roof off a building in Rio de Janeiro as winds exceeding 60 MPH battered the region. Video captured the structure being lifted by intense gusts before crashing down. The storm caused widespread damage, including power outages, transport disruptions and fallen trees across Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. At least five people died, including victims of collapsing structures, falling trees and a capsized boat, while authorities warned residents to avoid coastal areas as the cold front moved through.
