The Pentagon announced new American military strikes on Iran Wednesday morning. U.S. Central Command said forces began hitting Iranian targets at 6 a.m. Eastern Time as part of ongoing efforts to weaken the regime’s ability to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
This marks the latest round in days of action. The U.S. military carried out a seven-hour wave of strikes overnight and followed it with a 90-minute wave on Wednesday. These attacks come after the U.S. reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports and completed its fourth straight night of operations.
Why the strikes? Iran’s forces have repeatedly attacked commercial shipping in the narrow Strait of Hormuz waterway. That passage carries a huge share of the world’s oil. The strikes aim to degrade Iran’s missile sites, air defenses, radar, drone capabilities, and small attack boats that threaten tankers and trade routes.
Specific hits reported
- A military barracks belonging to Iran’s 388th Mechanized Infantry Brigade in southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province. Iranian state media said seven soldiers, including conscripts, were killed and others wounded after at least 13 missiles struck.
- A civilian maritime control tower in Chabahar, Iran’s only major deep-water port that gives direct access to the Indian Ocean.
- Coastal defense systems, cruise missile storage, and launch sites, including on Greater Tunb Island.

The U.S. is also expanding pressure. President Trump warned that if Iran refuses to return to serious talks, “next week it gets really bad for them, because next week comes the power plants.” He added: “You better make a deal, or you’re not going to have anything left. Ultimately, we’ll hit energy targets in Iran. Next week comes the bridges. We’re going to knock out all of their power plants. We’ll knock out all of their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.”
Trump noted that U.S. forces have already struck Kharg Island — Iran’s key oil export terminal — two or three times. He said America would avoid fully seizing it only to protect the world economy, but would consider it if Iran is degraded enough.
Iran’s response and casualties Iran’s government claims at least 30 civilians have been killed and more than 260 wounded in recent American strikes. One strike reportedly hit an agricultural water station in Khuzestan province. Iran’s leaders and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have vowed a “decisive response” and continue defiant rhetoric, saying oil and gas exports from the region will be “for everyone or for no one.”
Iran strikes back at U.S. and allied bases The IRGC launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks on U.S. and partner military sites across the Gulf region. Targets included:
- Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base and facilities in Juffair.
- Kuwait’s Ali Al-Salem Air Base and Camp Buehring, plus a Kuwaiti navy vessel (four crew injured).
- Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base and other sites.
🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran may have just blown a 6-million-barrel-a-day hole in the global oil market.
The Port of Fujairah, one of the world’s most important tanker, storage and refuelling hubs, has reportedly been shut after Iranian missiles struck two oil tankers.

Social media showed plumes of smoke and unverified drone footage from Kuwait. Many incoming threats were intercepted, but Iran claims damage to radar, warehouses, and other assets.
Broader Trump administration pushback Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned Iran’s strikes on Jordanian territory as “unacceptable” during talks with Jordan’s foreign minister.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told Iraq it must “assert its sovereignty and disarm the Iran-aligned militias responsible for 600+ attacks on U.S. personnel this spring.” He stressed that a secure Iraq opens doors for stronger U.S. commercial and defense ties.
The bottom line for America After years of weak policies that let Iran’s regime grow bolder, President Trump is using real strength to protect U.S. interests, global shipping lanes, and regional stability. The message is clear: negotiate seriously or face steadily worsening consequences — including strikes on energy and infrastructure that would cripple the Iranian economy.
Iran’s leaders show no sign of backing down yet, but sustained U.S. pressure is forcing them to feel the cost of their aggression. With Trump in charge, America is done tolerating threats to our troops, our allies, or the free flow of commerce. President Trump is making sure Iran will never develop nuclear weapons. He has already succeeded.

Whatfinger’s Take On The News: President Trump Orders Fresh Strikes on Iran to Shield Shipping and Force a Deal
The war room lit up with breaking updates on Trump authorizing new strikes against Iran after shipping attacks in the Strait of Hormuz. The crew gathered around the screens, dissecting the latest escalation in the high-stakes standoff.
Luke kicked off with the facts and context. “Trump’s directing fresh precision strikes to protect commercial shipping and pressure Iran back to serious negotiations. The regime’s violations of the recent truce crossed a red line. Full breakdown here: President Trump Orders Fresh Strikes on Iran to Shield Shipping and Force a Deal. We’ve tracked the pattern — ship attacks, broken ceasefires, and the nuclear ambitions that never went away. America First means securing vital lanes, not endless weakness.”
Alex leaned in with a wry grin. “Iran pokes the bear by hitting tankers, Trump responds with ‘fresh strikes’ instead of strongly worded letters. Shocking. The media will call it reckless while gas prices would’ve spiked if shipping got shut down. It’s like the regime keeps testing the ‘peace through strength’ guy and forgetting he actually means the strength part. Pass the popcorn — and maybe some lower oil futures.”
Sgt. Pat spoke with clear military realism. “The Strait is a global artery. You let attacks slide and you invite more — on shipping, on allies, eventually on us. Trump’s strikes send the message: consequences are immediate and targeted. No more free shots while talking ‘deals.’ This is how you force serious bargaining, not photo-op handshakes that get violated the next week. Weakness gets exploited; resolve gets respect.”
Lisa focused on the practical fallout. “Families feel this at the pump and the grocery store. One major disruption in the Strait and costs ripple everywhere. Trump prioritizing protection of shipping lanes over endless diplomacy shows he gets it — American interests first. Parents don’t want another quagmire, but they also don’t want to pay the price for looking away while threats grow.”
Beth kept it grounded in the human element. “There’s real tension and loss on all sides when force is used, but repeated provocations leave little choice. Trump’s approach aims to deter without full-scale war — shield the lanes, pressure for a real deal on nukes and proxies. People sense when leadership is reactive versus proactive. Protecting commerce and stability matters for everyday life, not just headlines.”
Alex added another light jab. “Iran’s hardliners test the waters, get hit, then suddenly remember they want talks again. Trump’s not playing the old game of ‘agree to disagree while you build bombs.’ It’s refreshing — and probably giving the media fits trying to spin strength as the real danger. As he said we will keep bombings going and next week, they lose their power plants and Iran will be going back to the stone age in short order. The nuts who run Iran probably don’t care.”
Ben brought the philosophical close. “As Sun Tzu taught and history confirms, the superior leader prevents war through credible strength rather than inviting it through hesitation. True peace isn’t the absence of force — it’s the presence of resolve that makes aggression too costly. Trump’s red lines on shipping and nukes reflect that ancient truth: protect what matters, deter what threatens, and negotiate only when the other side understands the cost of breaking faith.”
Luke wrapped the links. “We’ve covered the prior strikes, the truce breakdowns, and the ongoing Iranian playbook. This latest move reinforces the consistent strategy.”
The team nodded as updates continued. Michael Anthony wrapped. “Crew Take?”
Sgt. Pat: “Protect the lanes. Enforce the lines. No more games. Trump has this, and meanwhile the scum in our media attack him with every move.”
Alex: “Or watch oil prices and media hysteria both explode. Pick your fighter.”
Ben: “Strength secures peace. Hesitation invites chaos.”
