A rapist who let an innocent man serve nearly two decades in prison for his crime has been sentenced to 24 years in jail at Manchester Crown Court.
Paul Quinn, 52, was found guilty in April this year of raping a woman in 2003 after advances in testing meant that a billion-to-one match of his DNA profile was made with saliva left on the victim’s vest top.
Andrew Malkinson, who was previously wrongly convicted and served 17 years in jail, said all those responsible for "allowing this dangerous man to wander free" must be "held to account".
