Utica Police were alerted on April 29 to a stolen military-style vehicle taken from near the Alexander Pirnie Federal Building. Officers located it on West Street, but the driver fled, nearly striking police and leading them on a reckless chase through city streets. The vehicle crashed multiple times; hitting a pole, hydrant, building, and tree. After the final crash, police forced the driver out and arrested him. Two officers were injured while trying to stop the vehicle.
