On April 13, under the direction of U.S. Southern Command commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a lethal strike on a vessel linked to designated terrorist organizations. Intelligence indicated the vessel was operating along known drug-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and actively engaged in narcotics smuggling. Two suspected narco-terrorists were killed in the operation, and no U.S. personnel were injured.
