The United States Department of Energy and the Department of Defense transported a small nuclear reactor by cargo plane from California to Utah for the first time. Partnering with Valar Atomics, the agencies flew one of the company’s Ward microreactors aboard a C-17 aircraft to Hill Air Force Base.
