Donald Trump, hosting the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors, said that he “would have taken” an award if asked, joking about giving himself an honor while celebrating this year’s top performing artists. Trump also joked about being asked to host: “I’m the President of the United States. Are you fools asking me to do that?” and referenced his past hosting experience, saying, “I used to host the Apprentice finales, and we did rather well with that.” He added that the evening would be “quite successful” thanks to the lineup of “really great” honorees.
