The witch hunt gets hit by Trump
In a strategic legal maneuver, attorneys for former President Donald Trump have filed an appeal to overturn a significant witch hunt February ruling. This ruling found Trump and his enterprise culpable for fraud amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars. Even though no one was defrauded, the Democrats and the DOJ that put them up to it, made their own laws up as if we are already the Soviet U.S.. The appeal, filed on Monday, contends that the $454 million judgment handed down by Judge Arthur Engoron is excessively severe and fundamentally flawed.

Trump’s legal team has characterized the ruling as “draconian,” asserting that it contravenes established New York case law spanning centuries. Engoron’s judgment concluded that Trump, alongside his company and senior executives, including his sons Eric and Donald Trump Jr., engaged in a protracted scheme to mislead financial institutions and insurance companies. By inflating Trump’s net worth on financial documents, they secured preferential terms that would have been otherwise unattainable. The Judge is a hardcore Democrat and did all he could to convict, including not even letting Trump bring in actual witnesses. This is the perfect example of a Soviet trial right here in the U.S.
The judgment quantified the financial benefit of these deceptive practices at $354 million in “ill-gotten gains,” with an additional interest penalty of approximately $100 million, bringing the total to $454 million. Trump’s attorneys, reiterating arguments from the protracted 2023 bench trial, insist that the allegations presented by New York Attorney General Letitia James were not only outside the statute of limitations but also pertained to transactions devoid of any identifiable victims or losses. The scam revealed.
Christopher Kise, representing Trump, vehemently criticized the trial court’s decisions, labeling them as “legally bereft” and claiming they disregarded indisputable facts. Kise further accused Engoron of enabling a “reckless, politically motivated Attorney General” to interfere in legitimate, mutually advantageous business transactions.
A longstanding contention of Trump’s defense is that James’ office lacked the legal standing to initiate the 2022 lawsuit, which culminated in the fraud verdict. This assertion has been consistently dismissed by the courts, leading to a sanction in September 2023 where five of Trump’s lawyers were fined $7,500 each for persistently presenting what were deemed frivolous arguments.

In response to the appeal, a spokesperson for Attorney General James underscored these previous sanctions, affirming confidence in the original ruling. The spokesperson maintained that the case was won based on solid legal grounds and factual evidence, expressing certainty that the appeal would also be unsuccessful.
Judge Engoron’s February ruling was notably severe, castigating Trump and his co-defendants for their apparent lack of remorse and contrition, describing their behavior as nearly pathological. Engoron highlighted the recurrent inflation of asset values solely for financial gain, an act corroborated by substantial documentary evidence.
During the trial, Trump defended himself by asserting that any inaccuracies in property or wealth valuations were due to undervaluation, not inflation. He attributed the misleading financial statements to his accountants, a defense that Engoron rejected, stating that Trump and his company provided “blatantly false financial data” to their accountants. Engoron noted the defendants’ witnesses’ refusal to acknowledge reality and their failure to accept responsibility or implement measures to prevent future misconduct.

The fraud of these witch trials will soon be rectified when Trump gets to the White House. Then, perhaps we will see justice.
Major Points:
- Former President Donald Trump’s legal team has filed an appeal to overturn a $454 million fraud judgment, calling it “draconian” and a violation of New York case law.
- Judge Arthur Engoron found Trump, his company, and executives, including his sons, guilty of inflating Trump’s wealth to deceive banks and insurers, resulting in $354 million in “ill-gotten gains” plus $100 million in interest.
