Jesus does not differentiate between those who are meant to be on fire for Him and those who are simply expected to live a life of mediocrity. Not hot, not cold, just lukewarm, going along, avoiding the really big sins and living the American dream.
We are called to something higher. He calls all of us to be set apart for Him, to be on fire, to refresh the world like a cool drink of water, and if we are not, Jesus says, “be zealous and repent.” “Repent or else.” There is no middle ground with Him.
