That’s a growing significance as the continent accounts for around 20% of the world’s Catholic population. Some names have been mentioned, such as Peter Turkson from Ghana, a progressive voice, or the conservatives Robert Sarah from Guinea and Fridolin Ambongo Besungu from DR Congo.
