A Christian group in Nigeria has announced that around 50 of the more than 300 children who were kidnapped from a Catholic school last week have escaped. The group says the children have been reunited with their families. Nigeria has recently experienced a spate of attacks by armed gangs, with two schools and a church being the latest targets. Fears for security have sparked a wave of school closures across the country.
