Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to Moscow for talks. This is the second time Putin has hosted al-Sharaa since rebels toppled Syria’s longtime dictator, Bashar al-Assad, over a year ago. Russia supported the Assad regime during the conflict and is still hosting the former leader in exile.
