The US Senate has approved President Trump’s spending bill with the narrowest of votes.
It adds trillions to the national debt and includes big cuts to healthcare and food programs. The bill pushed past opposition from Democrats and their own Republican ranks after a turbulent overnight session. Ultimately, the Senate was evenly split fifty- fifty with Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-braking vote.
