Biden and Harris have virtually ignored the deaths they caused. Right-leaning outlets such as Fox News, Breitbart, and The Daily Wire have criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for inadequate attention and empathy towards the Gold Star families who lost loved ones during the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden and Harris caused these deaths, and the people will never forget that Biden and Harris represent the most anti-American presidency we’ve ever had.
Three years after the tragic Abbey Gate bombing during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have yet to reach out to the Gold Star families affected by the event. This has been a point of contention highlighted during a recent call involving GOP Vice Presidential nominee Senator JD Vance, the Trump campaign, and reporters.

The bombing, orchestrated by an ISIS-K member at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport, claimed the lives of 13 U.S. service members and left 18 others wounded. The deadly event also resulted in over 150 civilian casualties. Amid these reflections, former President Donald Trump participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the fallen Americans—a gesture not mirrored by Biden or Harris.
Gold Star father Mark Schmitz, expressing his frustration, criticized the current administration’s handling of the withdrawal’s aftermath, suggesting a deliberate distance from the issue. He shared with Fox News Digital his disappointment in both Biden and Harris for not attending the memorial events, calling their absence a further insult to the families of the 13 service members.

Schmitz’s son, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, was among those killed. Cheryl Juels, Gold Star Aunt of fallen Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole Ghee and attendee of the ceremony, echoed Schmitz’s sentiments. She dismissed any gestures from Biden and Harris as insincere, instead praising Trump for his ongoing support and personal engagement with the families, underscoring a strong preference for his return to office.
This sentiment is reinforced by Juels’ portrayal of Trump as a protector of U.S. service members, with a committed stance on ensuring their safety—a stark contrast to her views on the current administration. The families, unified in their grief, appear to be channeling their advocacy and support toward reinstating Trump, whom they believe will better safeguard military personnel.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Fox News noted that the suicide bomber responsible for the attack was allegedly released from Bagram Air Base after the Taliban took over, further complicating the narrative of the U.S. withdrawal and its execution.
President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “have never once reached out” to Gold Star families who lost loved ones in the disastrous Afghan War withdrawal.

The U.S. service members who lost their lives in the attack were actively involved in the evacuation efforts aimed at rescuing U.S. citizens and Afghan allies, highlighting the significant personal risks taken by those in uniform during such critical missions. The list of the deceased reflects a cross-section of America, with individuals from various states making the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
