Donald Trump speaks during a visit to the US central bank and continued to put pressure on the chairman of the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates.
The US president has repeatedly criticised Jerome Powell, the chair of the Federal Reserve, for not taking this action.
The central bank has held off since Mr Trump’s second term in office began, citing threats to the pace of price growth from his on-off trade war.
Trump has called Powell "terrible" and "stupid", and insisted that there are multiple candidates who could succeed him.
