President Donald Trump told reporters the US needs “total access” to Venezuela, including its oil and key resources, arguing the country’s collapsing roads and bridges require rebuilding after the capture of Nicolás Maduro. Trump described the operation as fast and violent, said Maduro surrendered immediately, and warned other regional leaders they could face consequences even worse if they resist.
