Speaking to reporters as he left Florida, US President Donald Trump said the United States will oversee oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz, which he said would be jointly controlled by “maybe him” and the “next Ayatollah.”
The remarks followed his warning that the US could “obliterate” Iran’s power plants unless Iran relinquishes its stranglehold on the strait—a 48-hour deadline originally ending today, now extended by five days.
