President Trump said Monday that he plans to tell Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop his invasion of Ukraine when they meet Friday in Alaska — and that he will include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the “next meeting.” “I’m going to be telling him, ‘You’ve got to end this war,’” Trump said at a White House press conference where he announced plans to federalize local police as a part of a crime crackdown in Washington, DC. Trump confirmed that Zelensky would not be included in this week’s summit — but promised that he would call Kyiv and European leaders after meeting with Putin if the sitdown goes well.
