The National Guard has been deployed to the streets of LA, as a deepening row between California’s leaders and the White House continues.
President Trump ordered troops on to the streets to stamp out the demonstrations that broke out in response to federal immigration raids.
Neither city nor state officials requested the National Guards’ assistance, with California Governor Gavin Newsom calling their deployment "purposefully inflammatory".
President Trump says that if the Governor can’t do his job, the federal government will.
