The Italian NGO Emergency reported that its search-and-rescue vessel rescued 123 migrants stranded in the central Mediterranean over less than 48 hours, while a two-year-old child was reported missing off Lampedusa. The vessel carried out three separate operations: 41 people were rescued on Friday, 57 more early Saturday, and a final group of 25—including 11 unaccompanied minors—later that day off Malta. All rescues took place in international waters within the Libyan search-and-rescue zone.
