Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro vowed to continue exporting oil despite President Trump ordering a blockade on sanctioned tankers entering and leaving Venezuela. Speaking in Caracas on December 17, Maduro accused the United States of colonial aggression and said he had spoken with UN Secretary-General António Guterres about the escalating threats. Venezuelan exports remain largely on hold, sources say, while PDVSA slowly restarts operations after a cyberattack. Maduro urged the UN Security Council to address what he called ongoing US aggression.
