A formal ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle saw President Trump greeted with the largest-ever Guard of Honour for such an occasion. King Charles and Trump shared a warm laugh as they inspected the guards, with the King joking, “watch the sword” as a guard passed close by.
In a notable moment, Trump was invited to walk ahead of the King during the inspection, a tradition for visiting world leaders and a pointed nod to criticism he faced during his last state visit with the late Queen.
The President and First Lady Melania were welcomed by Prince William and Princess Kate before being escorted to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla for the ceremony.
