North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s teenage daughter, Ju Ae, made her first public appearance abroad this week as she accompanied her father to Beijing. The rare outing is fueling speculation she is being groomed as his successor. “For North Korean citizens, seeing Ju Ae’s exposure expand from within the country to overseas will likely reinforce the perception that she is almost certainly moving toward becoming the successor. Kim Jong Un and the North Korean authorities appear to be sending such a message deliberately.”
