Diplomats from Iran and the United States are due to meet in Rome on Saturday for negotiations over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Rome earlier today. It’s the second round of talks, following a meeting in Oman last weekend. Iran told the US it was ready to accept some limits on uranium enrichment, but needed strong guarantees that any deal would hold.
Araghchi was in Russia on Friday, where he expressed skepticism over the intentions of the US, which scrapped a previous nuclear agreement signed during President Donald Trump’s first term.
