In-Flight Meals Take Off | On This Day

Many of those who fly complain about having to pay for food on airlines, but that pay to eat system was actually the original way that things were done. In fact, there was on this day, October 11th, all the way back in 1919, when a flight from London to Paris kicked off the trend of in-flight meals. The airline, operated by a company called Handley Page Transport, had its so-called cabin boys hand out lunches to the passengers on board.
