A homeless resident in Washington, DC, Flegette Rippy, said she felt abandoned as President Trump announced plans to deploy 800 National Guard troops, temporarily take over the city’s police, and remove homeless encampments. "You just want to just throw us to the rats, give us a home, how about that? You just want to just throw us to the rats. I don’t want to be homeless. I just want to be in a place to live,” she told Reuters.
